The Supportive Services department encompasses all of the resident supportive services programs including Family Self Sufficiency, ROSS elderly also known as the Life Program, ROSS family program known as the REACH program and ROSS supportive services.  The supportive services department strives to provide excellent comprehensive case management to Greenville Housing Authority residents and participants of the housing programs to remove barriers and improve their quality of life. The Family Self Sufficiency, ROSS Supportive Services and the REACH program assist able bodied residents in going to school, finding employment in their career choices, and preparing for homeownership.  The ROSS elderly grant (LIFE Program) provides case management assistance, housekeeping assistance and activities for public housing residents who are sixty years old or older.

Family Self Sufficiency Program – The Family Self Sufficiency Program is a five year case management program for Public Housing Residents and Section 8 Participants. The program assists participants in planning goals for themselves for the next five year which includes educational goals, employment goals focused on careers, supportive services needs, and homeownership goals. Increases in rent caused by earned income after joining the program are placed into a savings account.  Once the participant completes all of their goals, a check in the amount of the savings account is written to the participant.

ROSS Elderly (LIFE Program) – The Life Program is designed to assist the residents of Public Housing only that are sixty years old or older to improve their quality of life.  This program provides for the following:
    ·         Case Management
    ·         Housekeeping Assistance
   
·        
Wellness Activities
    ·         Arts and Crafts Activities
    ·         Transportation to Doctor's Appointments

    ·         Field Trips

ROSS Family (REACH Program) –The REACH program has two components Adults and Youth.

Adult Program
- The adult program is designed to assist with supportive services of the Public Housing Family Self Sufficiency Program Participants. The Program participant may get assistance with the following:

GED Training Assistance
    ·         Job Skills Training Assistance
    ·        
Childcare Assistance (Limitedly)
    ·         Transportation Assistance (Limitedly)
    ·        
Homeownership Counseling Referrals
    ·        
Down Payment Assistance for Purchase of a Home

Youth Program – The youth program is designed to assist Public Housing Youth from the ages of 5 to 18 years old.  The youth program features the following:

Youth Case Management with an emphasis on Educational Achievement
    ·        
Individual Tutoring Assistance
    ·         After School Program and Summer Camp Referrals
    ·         Mentoring Program Referrals
    ·        
Activities for youth

ROSS Supportive Services – The Supportive Services Program is designed to assist Public Housing Residents whether they are disabled or able to go to work.  This program provides the following:

    ·         Goal Oriented Case Management

Referrals to services available within the area.
